Because we have amazing clients with big hearts we occasionally find ourselves immersed in projects that are frankly more rewarding than they are work. March 29 brought such an opportunity our way, as The Marketing Pack had the honor of helping our client, The Urology Group, pay tribute to U.S. Veterans. While it was a labor of love and involved many, many hours of pro bono work for our team, it was also a unique chance to give back and one we will never forget.
March 29, 2023 was the 50th anniversary of the final U.S. troops coming home from Vietnam, and national Vietnam Veterans Day. Nearly a year ago, we suggested to our client, who was already inclined to support Veteran events, that we do something big for Vietnam Veterans. Something to finally give them the "welcome home" they deserved. With their support, and that of several other generous companies, we produced an unforgettable 3-hour tribute that drew nearly 2,000 people to Xavier University's Cintas Center.
The Urology Group entrusted us with all of the fundraising, promotion, programming, logistics, volunteer recruitment, and media relations that went along with such a large undertaking. But aside from the professional experience we all enjoyed, it was the appreciative faces on Veterans that evening that made every ounce of energy, sweat, and tears worth it.
To all Veterans, especially those who served in Vietnam but did not get the heroes welcome they deserved, we thank you for your service.
